Justin Bieber’s Perfume Someday Causes Negative Side Effects

July 15, 2011

Justin Bieber’s marketing team met with the young singer a few weeks after his Someday perfume had been successfully launched.

“Sales are great,” one of the marketers said, “but we’ve noticed some side effects that we’re trying to keep secret from the public.”

“Girls who wear the perfume have gone into seizures where they weep uncontrollably with happiness,” a researcher said.  “Boys, on the other hand, get angry at the scent and avoid it at all costs.”

“Except for some of the more… gleeful… boys, who go out and get bad haircuts,” said the marketer.

“We need to find out if this reaction is a physical side effect caused by the chemicals in the perfume,” the researcher said.  “Or we need to know if this reaction is a psychological one caused by the emotional response to your name on the scent.”

“Yo, there are a lot of haters out there,” Bieber said, agreeing that the research needed to be done.

“Yes,” the marketer responded.  “Some of them have even made derisive comments about your association with a perfume instead of a cologne.  Such as, Justin Bieber Someday will stop singing like a girl.”

“Justin Bieber Someday will get a good haircut,” the researcher said, joining in.

“Justin Bieber Someday will be a has-been in a drug rehab reality TV show,” the marketer said.

“Justin Bieber, Someday the stench from this perfume will go away,” the researcher said.

“Yo, yo, yo, that’s enough,” Bieber said.  “What are we going to do about the perfume research?”

The researcher said, “We want to take the same scent, give it a completely different name, and see if customers have a different emotional reaction to it.”

“Instead of Justin Bieber’s Someday,” the singer asked, “what is it going to be called?”

The marketer said, “Lady Gaga’s So Yesterday.”

DOUBLE AAArrrgh!  This was lame, even by my standards.  This is what happens when you try to participate in one of those “write 100 posts in 100 days” challenges.  Don’t do it!  Let this lame joke be your warning!
